Julia's Battle with Colic and Insomnia: A Psycho-Bio-Acupressure Case

Since her birth, Julia, now 8 months old, has struggled with sleep. She suffers from relentless colic that nothing seems to alleviate. At night, she energetically resists sleep, her tiny fists clenched and her face full of fury. The moment she’s left alone, she cries and screams, needing constant holding to feel at ease. Even when she manages to fall into an agitated sleep, it only lasts a couple of hours before she wakes up crying again, disrupting the entire household. Her face often shows a mix of anger, fear, despair, and pain, as she squirms from the discomfort of baby colic.

This continuous struggle exhausts everyone involved. The entire family is drained, and the strain on her parents' relationship has brought them to the brink of separation. They take turns holding Julia night after night, their love, patience, and understanding stretched to the limit. Each new day brings more exhaustion with work, daycare, and household chores.

Despite trying everything, nothing worked. They even tried letting her cry it out, hoping she’d sleep from exhaustion, but her cries only intensified. The pediatrician and others suggested she was just being capricious, but her distress only grew. Her face turned red, she sweated, and she seemed close to convulsing, yet sleep continued to elude her.

In desperation, Julia’s parents brought her to my Psycho-Bio-Acupressure clinic, skeptical yet hopeful. Their demeanor reflected their despair and depression, adding to Julia's distress.

My first question was about the mother's pregnancy and Julia's birth circumstances. Her mother had been nervous throughout the pregnancy. Julia was overdue and delivered by emergency caesarean, spending several days in a humidicrib. Cases like Julia’s are not uncommon in my practice. Julia was simply terrified, panicked by the idea of abandonment. During her time in the womb, she sensed her mother's anxiety. Recent studies show that hormonal changes can affect the amniotic fluid, which the baby both physically and vibrationally absorbs.

Following her traumatic pregnancy and delivery, Julia couldn’t sleep. Ancestral fears of being attacked during sleep are ingrained in our primitive brain, making sleep feel dangerous as it involves losing control of our environment. This instinctual response kept Julia awake.

Additionally, Julia's time in the humidicrib intensified her fear of abandonment. She clung desperately to her parents, constantly needing to be held. This fear manifested as colic that woke her up if she did manage to sleep.

Compounding the problem, Julia absorbed her parents' tension and her mother’s postnatal depression. Thoughts are energy, and Julia soaked up the anxiety and depression surrounding her, creating a vicious cycle: fear led to insomnia and colic, which were aggravated by her parents’ depression, perpetuating Julia's fear.

To help Julia, I needed to remove the energies of anger, depression, and panic, even at her young age. I used five PBA circuits (a combination of acupressure points around the body): one for each energy to be corrected—anger, depression, panic, replacing the fuse, and recharging with positive energy. I also addressed Julia's fear of the world, fear of being attacked, and fear of abandonment, finishing with a circuit to calm her colon and stop the colic. This entire process took only half an hour.

With some time left, I also treated Julia’s mother for negative thinking, depression, and anxiety. Without this, she could unintentionally recharge Julia negatively.

The next day, I received a joyous and grateful phone call: Julia had slept perfectly, and her parents, for the first time in 8 months, had a restful night. It truly is that simple.
